Who are we?
The Crisis Intervention Team is available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week to help individuals and families who are in crisis or experiencing an emergency.

What are the crisis services provided?
Crisis workers work out of the Emergency Room of the Owen Sound site of Grey Bruce Health Services. This program is administratively based at Grey Bruce Health Services Owen Sound site.

What do I do to talk with a crisis worker?
The crisis worker available at the Owen Sound site of the Grey Bruce Health Services is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week by going to the Emergency Room. The crisis worker is not in the hospital between 10 p.m. and 8:00 a.m.

What will a crisis worker do for me?
A crisis worker will talk things over with you and together, with you and a doctor, decide which types of treatment would be helpful for your problems.
Your problems are private and confidential. Information will be discussed with others (i.e. social agencies or family) only if you give your permission.
When necessary, the crisis worker can make referrals to other agencies or services to help you receive the assistance you require.

Is there a cost?
The Crisis Intervention Team is a program of the Grey Bruce Health Services and is funded by the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care. Our services are offered free of charge.
